Researchers from the Joslin Diabetes Center investigated time trends in pregnancy-related outcomes among women with type 1 diabetes between 2004 and 2017, and found that the percentage of mothers with excess weight gain during pregnancy as well as the use of insulin pumps and CGMs increased significantly, while the prevalence of nephropathy fell dramatically to zero.

Tear composition, specifically mucin 5AC and interleukin-8 levels, might differentiate Sjögren's syndrome-related dry eye, according to a study presented at the virtual Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology meeting.
“Our aim was to investigate whether we can differentiate the inflammatory response on the ocular surface in Sjögren's syndrome-related dry eye compared to non-Sjögren's syndrome dry eye,” Sezen Karakus, MD, said.
