My Wife Got Her COVID-19 Vaccine, And I'm Kind Of Jealous

1 month ago - By Scary Mommy

The other day, my wife and I went on our insurance website to fill out a COVID-19 vaccine eligibility survey. My wife went first. She's at high risk after being in the hospital in late October for sepsis. She also works as a teaching assistant in our children's school, and before COVID-19 , she also taught gardening classes. She filled out the survey, and got some information about how she'd be contacted soon to make an appointment .
Then I went to the computer. I want to say I made it three questions in before I was more or less kicked out with a blanket statement along the lines of “you...

    Op-Ed: Refuse A COVID-19 Vaccine? You're Canceled

Recently, I discovered through a mom friend that as a mother to a special needs child , my state deemed me in our 1-A group for a COVID-19 vaccine. I cried. A COVID-19 vaccine would let me take our kids places within our comfort levels if they were masked, wearing a buff, and socially distanced. We could leave the house. An adult vaccinated against COVID-19 would change our kids' lives.
    I began...

A rapid vaccine rollout in Israel that prioritized older adults led to 67% decline in the ratio of COVID-19 patients aged 70 years or older who required mechanical ventilation compared with patients younger than 50 years, a study showed.
According to the study, which was published in MMWR, approximately 84% of people aged 70 years or older and 10% of people aged 50 years or younger had received two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine as of this month.
